Costume Class

Costumes can range from the very simple (ghost and haunted horse, lazy jogger, etc.) to the very elaborate (ring wraith from "Lord of the Rings", Headless Horseman, Spongebob Squarepants, etc.).  The horse may be ridden or led.  Group costumes are welcome, there doesn't have to be a horse with every person.

Lead Line Rider (this is for mom/dad/husband/wife to be lead by student)

Riders will be asked to show their horses at the walk, posting trot, sitting trot, and two-point trot, in both directions on a lead line. Several exhibitors may ride at the same time, but if there are more entrants than space or available lead lines or horses, multiple instances of this class will be run until every rider has had a chance to compete at least once.

Ride-A-Buck (Bareback)

Riders may be asked to exhibit their horses at the halt, walk, posting trot, sitting trot with a dollar bill placed under their leg. The last one to keep their dollar in place gets everyone else’s dollars! They may be asked to jump a small 12” jump if a ‘ride-off’ is necessary. If more than one rider wants to ride the same horse, the game will be run multiple times (max: 4). For those classes, riders who aren't sharing their horse may participate every time the game is played, but they will need to pay an entry fee for each time they play.

Barrel Racing (Trot)

Barrels will be set. Riders are asked to trot the barrels as if in barrel racing. If a rider goes past a barrel they were supposed or runs the pattern wrong they must return to the start line (straight back without weaving). The maximum gait between the start/finish line and the far line is an extended trot. If the horse breaks into a canter, that rider must return to the start line (straight back without running barrels) and start again.

Jack-O-Lantern Contest

Bring in your carved pumpkins and display them throughout the party and fun show.  After the jumper classes, the jack-o-lanterns will be judged and the winner will receive a candy prize!

THE SHOW SECRETARY MUST SEE ALL HORSES’ CURRENT COGGINS WITHIN 12 MONTHS BEFORE YOU PARTICIPATE IN THE SHOW. THIS IS A STATE LAW. IN ADDITION, PLEASE PROVIDE CERTIFICATES OF FLU/RHINO VACCINATIONS WITHIN 6 MONTHS. [NEW PROTOCOL FOR ALL SHOWS]

No dogs allowed on show grounds.
